HD Rubber: This heavier-duty rubber transmission mount is more durable than the factory stock unit. It does require enlarging the hole in the transmission crossmember to accommodate a 10mm mounting stud (very easy to do).
Urethane: Our heavy duty urethane transmission mount is supported with 2 steel cups molded inside (so they don’t need additional exterior reinforcing like mounts offered by others). Stiffer transmission mounts improve shifter feel and can reduce the potential of missed shifts – the durometer of these is 80a. The studs are 8mm so you don’t have to redrill the holes. Installation notes: Urethane motor-mount torque spec. is 18 ft/lbs. Over-tightening can lead to premature failure.
***Note: These mounts fit most BMW’s from the 2002 to the E36 (E21, E24, E28, E34, etc. but NOT the E30 M3) – some vehicles require 1 mount and some require 2. These mounts are priced each.
